December 2025 - This year's holiday celebration recognized students' hard work and personal and professional development by acknowledging Taylor's first publication (ACS Infectious Disease Journal) and Morgan & Taylor's successful completion of their respective doctoral qualifying exams, officially making them PhD Candidates. The celebration involved both graduate (G) and undergraduate (UG) research personnel. November 2025 - Taylor Barber gave an oral presentation on her research at the annual Graduate Research Forum organized by the university and was among four recipients of the 'Top Oral Presentation Award'!
November 2025 - Morgan Price presented her research at a poster session as part of the Graduate Research Forum organized by the university.

September 2025 - After receiving the Undergraduate Summer Scholars (USS) fellowship, Ta-Niyah Darden, along with other recipients, presented her research entitled 'Targeting the development of a biofilm protective wall by Bacillus subtilis to combat antibiotic resistance' at the fall research showcase organized by Miami University. Well Done!
August 2025 - Anna Wolf was among this year's recipients of the inaugural 2025-2026 ACS scholarship for undergraduate students designed to support student education and future leaders in the chemical sciences. Summer 2025 - Anna Wolf and Izzy Grytza (visiting from Hanover College) were awarded NSF fellowships to conduct independent summer research in our lab. they both aspire to attend graduate school!
Summer 2025 - Ta-Niyah was awarded Miami University's Undergraduate Summer Scholars (USS) Fellowship to conduct independent research giving her the opportunity to build her laboratory research skills as she considers attending graduate school.
Summer 2025 - Emily was awarded the Hughes Scholars Fellowship sponsored by the department of chemistry to conduct independent research giving her the opportunity to build her research skills. She is considering applying to medical school this coming academic year.
May - August 2025 - The lab hosted four undergraduate research assistants sponsored by (left to right) NSF fellowships Anna & Izzy, the Miami University's Undergraduate Summer Scholars program (Ta-Niya), and The Department of Chemistry's Hughes Program (Emily)
June 2025 - Taylor gives an oral research presentation at the annual CMSB symposium!
May 2025 - Lily was awarded the 2025 prestigious President's Distinguished Service Award recognizing her relentless efforts to advocate for cancer, including personally raising $20,000 for cancer research and patient support! Well done Lily!

October 2024 - the laboratory welcomed Ruth Ndupu as first year graduate student in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at Miami University. She plans to obtain a doctoral degree in chemistry. Welcome to the laboratory!
September 2024 - After completing a summer of research in the laboratory, thanks to the Undergraduate Student Scholars (USS) Program, Anna gave a 2-slide short presentation of her research project to her peer and faculty members.
July 2024 - The lab received a two-year subaward contract for research involving the development of adjuvants against the Chloramphenicol florfenicol resistance (Cfr) enzyme, a radical S-adenosyl-dependent methylase found in Staphylococcus aureus, whose methylation activity leads to resistance against five major classes of antibiotics used in clinical settings. This work is part of a collaboration with Dr. Squire J Booker at Penn State University.
June 2024 - Anna received the USS undergraduate summer research fellowship to initiate her undergraduate research career. The fellowship covers her 9-week summer research involving the discovery of membrane-targeting antibacterial agents. Congratulations, and welcome to the lab!
May 2024 - Congratulations to Lily on being named a 2024 College of Arts and Science Dean’s Scholar! She received this award from a competitive pool of applicants thanks to her diligence, perseverance, and impressive accomplishments over the past year. Well done, Lily!
