Teaching Approach
In my teaching practice under the SEA Teacher Project, I applied the 4A’s Approach (Activity, Analysis, Abstraction, Application) to structure the lesson in a clear and engaging way.
The lesson began with interactive activities to activate students’ prior knowledge, followed by guided analysis to help them identify patterns in grammar. Then, key concepts were introduced and explained, and finally, students applied their understanding through collaborative tasks.
Teaching Strategies
I implemented several strategies to support student engagement and understanding, particularly game-based learning and collaborative learning.
Games such as pictoword, fix me, and the grammar master used to create a fun and interactive classroom atmosphere, helping students stay motivated while learning grammar concepts. Meanwhile, group activities encouraged teamwork, communication, and peer support among students.
Pictoword :
A picture-based guessing game that encouraged students to identify words represented by visual clues
Fix me :
Students rearranged scrambled words to form grammatically correct sentences, they analyzed sentence structures, identified grammar patterns, and discussed their answers
The grammar master :
a collaborative group activity in which students were assigned a word and asked to write an effective definition using the grammar rules discussed during the lesson
