7th Grade Reading

This Week  9/21 -9/25
We are reading The Giver by Lois Lowry. This week, students will read Chapter's 3 and practice annotating important details about characters, conflict, setting, and emerging themes. We are examining Jonas's community , unfamiliar vocabulary, and details that may reveal how this society works.

Homework & Due Dates

Students should have gotten a copy of The Giver Thursday, September 10th, 2026. This week we will finish any The Giver Chapters 3 reading or annotations not completed during class. Review your annotations and class notes.

Students should have been given vocabulary packets and will need to study daily on their own for their test on the 28th.

Students will need to complete the first page front and back of their socratic seminar packets by next Tuesday 9/29.

 
Coming Up

Next Week, students will participate in their first Socratic Seminar on The Giver. Students should come prepared with their book, annotations, evidence from the text and the first page of their packet filled out.
