2024 - 2025 School Year
Dear Morris Knolls Community,
I hope this message finds you enjoying a healthy and relaxing summer with family and friends. As we prepare for the upcoming school year, I encourage all of our students to take a moment to reflect on their past experiences and set new personal and academic goals. This is a time filled with anticipation, joy, and responsibility. Over the next ten months, you will make important decisions about your education, career aspirations, and navigate the challenges that accompany significant life transitions. Rest assured, our dedicated staff at Morris Knolls is fully prepared to support you in meeting these challenges and ensuring that your time here is both positive and memorable.
As we approach the 2024-2025 school year, we are excited to announce our theme for the year: Golden Moments. This theme couldn't be more fitting as we watch athletes from around the world pursue their dreams and create unforgettable moments at the ongoing Olympics. Just as these athletes push their limits and achieve greatness, we too will strive to create our own Golden Moments throughout the year.
The concept of Golden Moments extends beyond individual success; it encompasses the small victories, acts of kindness, and moments of connection that strengthen our school community. Whether it’s an academic breakthrough, a triumph on the field or stage, or a simple gesture of support among peers, these moments define who we are as Golden Eagles.
To bring our theme to life, I invite everyone—students, teachers, and staff—to share your Golden Moments with us. Every accomplishment, no matter how big or small, deserves recognition. Please send your stories, photos, videos, or shout-outs to me at rmacnaughton@mhrd.org. We will be highlighting these Golden Moments in our community newsletter and on our social media platforms to inspire and uplift us all throughout the year.
To assist you in starting the school year on the right foot, we have provided important information on this site. Below, you will find a list of steps to take before the start of the year, along with valuable resources accessible via the tabs at the top of the site.
We are excited to collaborate with you as partners in education to ensure the success of our students. This year holds great promise, and I hope you will join us in making it a rewarding and memorable experience. I strongly encourage all parents and guardians to join our Home and School Association and take an active role in your child’s education. Information about joining the HSA is available on this site.

Here’s to a year filled with achievement, inspiration, and unforgettable Golden Moments!
With Golden Eagle Pride,
Ryan MacNaughton, Principal
Steps to take before the start of the school year:
Parents of students in grades 10 - 12 should complete the Annual Student Information Update in ASPEN. Parents can begin this process on August 19, 2024. This involves going into ASPEN to update contact information or make any changes to policy agreements. Click on the "Aspen Update" tab at the top of this page for more information. If you have no changes to make to your contact information or policy agreements from previous years, you can skip this step.
Review all yearly public notices by clicking on the MK Policies and Information tab at the top of this site. You can review this information at your leisure. If any of the health forms apply to your student, you can print them and submit them to our Health Office. In addition, we have provided useful resources for the school year. Please click on the Resources tab on the top of this page for useful links, including access to our Student Handbook for the 2024 - 2025 school year.
Parents and Guardians of students in grade 10-12 should log into MySchoolBucks and pay the annual chromebook fee of $27.50. For assistance, here is a tutorial video: Tutorial Video . Parents and Guardians of 9th grade students will receive an invoice for the annual chromebook fee during the month of September. Please note that fees will be waived for students who qualify for free or reduced lunch.
Each student should complete the district summer reading assignment. Information regarding the assignment can be found here: MHRD Summer Assignment Site. (Please note that some of our advanced level courses might have additional summer assignments and information is located on the site.)
Be sure to check ASPEN for your scheduled bus route and information. Bus Information, including pick up times and locations, will be made available in ASPEN on Monday, August 12, 2024. Please click on the "Bus Ridership" tab at the top of the site for additional information. Students will need their ID to ride the bus throughout the school year. If you lost your ID, you may request a new ID using MySchoolBucks. Freshmen Students will receive a temporary ID at Freshmen Orientation and use it until they are issued their permanent ID.
