Marching Band

Class overview

The purpose of the Mount Gilead Band Program is to provide a quality instrumental music education to students who choose to participate. This will be accomplished with proper fundamental instruction, music that covers a broad spectrum of styles, as well as a variety of performance opportunities.

The Mount Gilead Marching Band is comprised of high school band students, as well as select 8th grade members. The band performs pregame and halftime shows at varsity football games, showcasing a variety of musical selections and drill. The band also performs at a variety of community events, such as parades and the county fair. Members will learn the fundamentals of marching while also continuing to improve as a musician. Marching band, along with the other high school bands, are the top performing ensembles at MGHS, and members are expected to prepare and perform as such.
