Shutting Down your Chromebook
In order for Chromebooks to recieve updates, students should get into the habit of shutting down their Chromebooks every night.
Turn off your Chromebook or sign out
Power off your Chromebook
To turn off your Chromebook completely, try one of these options:
- From your desktop, click your account photo, then click Power .
- Click your account photo, click Sign out, then click Shut down.
- Press and hold the Power key for three seconds.
Sign out
To let someone else use your Chromebook, or to switch accounts. Remember that users need a MRGS Google account to be able to use your Chromebook.
- Click your account photo.
- Click Sign out.
Put your Chromebook to sleep
To save battery power while keeping your Chromebook on, you can put it to sleep by closing the lid.
If you signed out before putting your Chromebook to sleep, it will turn off automatically.
Wake up from sleep
To wake your Chromebook from sleep, open the lid, then press any key or swipe the touchpad.
