Hello! I'm Ms. Kato (KAH-toe)
I have been teaching at Metuchen High School since 2002. This year, I am teaching biology and environmental science. In the past, I have taught chemistry, earth science and anatomy & physiology.
In addition, I advise the Environmental Club, Asian Heritage Club, Anime Club, and the NJ Envirothon.
I am in the process of earning a MS in Teaching and Learning Chemistry through the New Jersey Center for Teaching and Learning.
I graduated from Wellesley College with an undergraduate degree in Biology and did some graduate work in Ecology at Rutgers University.
I was born in Japan, but came to the US as a child and grew up in Brooklyn. So I do speak Japanese, but it's very limited!
When I'm not wearing my teacher hat, I'm a mom to three kids (ages 9-15). In my spare time, I like learning about plants and critters, doing crafts, and Japanese Folk Dance.
