Have you ever listened to a recording of your own playing?
I love playing bass guitar so much that I can't help it, but unfortunately, my skill is not in proportion to my passion. Most of the time I play bass guitar by myself, but when I recorded my own performance for the first time a few years ago to make a video of my playing, the heartbreaking result still remains as a deep psychological scar.
I wondered why the result was so bad even though I was (or should have been) in the groove when I recorded it... After listening to it over and over again, I realized that the rhythm was not stable at all. The performance was somehow slightly off or not off, so when I listened to it, I wondered where they would make a mistake next time....
So there I started practicing with a metronome, which many people have recommended, but then I realized something...
I wondered if I really knew how much I was out of tune while playing.
When I think about it, there is no way I could have realized how much I was out of tune during the recording, since I was playing in the groove (believing that I was in rhythm).
So, in my case, the first thing I needed was to be told exactly what rhythm I was playing and whether the notes I had just played were well-timed or off.
I understood that practicing with a metronome was not only to play in the correct rhythm but also to train my ear, but I also realized that it would take a long time to train my ear and build up my own rhythm using a metronome.
I thought, “There must be a way to solve this problem (i.e., make it easier) with the help of technology in this day and age,” and tried to find a metronome application that would “tell me if my rhythm is correct in real time,” but I could not find one. I tried to find a metronome app that would “tell me if my rhythm is correct in real time” but was unable to find one.
After searching for quite a long time, I gave up and practiced using a general metronome application, but I was not improving at all, and I lost patience with myself and decided to make one myself. The result is “Metronoamee,” a super-unique metronome app.
Metronoamee has the following features:
● Seeing your own sound and rhythm
A click sound is made as with most metronome apps, and the waveform and timing of the input notes are displayed in the “Timeline Display” at the top of the application as a stream.
Timing is indicated by a gray band, which turns green when the sound is correctly input. If a note is played too fast, it is displayed in red; if a note is played too slow, it is displayed in blue, so that you can tell at a glance while playing whether your playing matches the rhythm you have set.
The color-coded notes are then totaled and displayed as a score in the center of the screen, allowing you to see your own rhythm as a number.
●You can also see your own form together.
The image from the camera can be overlapped on the lower part of the screen, so you can practice while watching your own form. (Of course, the camera display can be shown or hidden as desired.)
●You can record and look back on your practice.
The screen of the application can also be recorded as video, allowing you to look back on your own performance and rhythm later. Looking back on your own performance (even if it is painful) will greatly contribute to improving your sense of rhythm.
Since the videos are recorded as normal videos, you can easily share them with your friends and post them on SNS and video sites. Please try various ways to use it.
This application is provided as a paid application.
This application is basically offered as a paid application, but it can be downloaded free of charge and can be used for 15 seconds at a time, but it can be used as a trial application. We hope you will try it and see how it works.
