Jose Jones Memorial Scholarship Fund

Jose Jones was a driving force in the world of volleyball both locally and on the national stage. He was a founding member of the NCVF, commissioner of the NIVC, assignor for the MIAC, UMAC & NSIC in addition to coaching, officiating, mentoring and influencing the lives of countless players and officials across the country. His passion for the game and dedication to developing our cadre of officials lives on in the scholarship fund that now bears his name.

The purpose of the Jose Jones Memorial Scholarship Fund is to assist Metro Board of Officials members with expenses when working towards a PAVO National Certification as a referee or line judge as well as those joining us for their first year and those returning members seeking professional development opportunities through PAVO and other nationally-recognized organizations as well as any hardship requests for members going through difficult times. Jose was always one to give of his time and knowledge to help officials achieve their goals. Even though his presence and one-of-a-kind laugh are no longer with us, it is fitting that he be remembered each time an official takes a step forward in their career.

Applications are reviewed by the Metro Board Scholarship Committee and awarded annually at the summer board meeting.
