Clarification of Roles

Interveners work with students who have the rarest of low-incidence disabilities: deafblindness.  Many of these students (approximately 85%) have additional disabilities, therefore, the role may seem confusing.  The following documents were created to help people understand the difference between the intervener and the special education paraprofessional and then the difference between the role of the contracted nurse or school district health staff and the intervener.  These documents are also linked on the Minnesota DeafBlind Project website.
