2018 Inaugural Hall of Honor Inductee - Amanda Locke

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xOyKs2qPuY&feature=youtu.be

Tonight was such a special night. I was selected as one of the inaugural inductees into the MISD Hall of Honor. I am so humbled and honored to have been chosen as one of two female athletes selected, and the only inductee under the age of 40. As most of you know, behind every successful athlete is a bulletproof support system. Thank you to Coach Johnny Smith for nominating me for this award. Your support through out my high school career and now through my life have meant the world to me. Thank you to the MISD board and selection committee for choosing me. Thank you to my travel ball coaches, Brad Lemons and Kevin Shelton for teaching and growing me in the game. I know it wasn’t always easy but I appreciate all your patience over the years! To Murphy, Aly, Vann, and Steph- THANK YOU! You took a chance on a girl from Mesquite, Texas and molded me into a person I can be proud of. Thank you for the best 5 years of my life. To all of my teammates that have turned into sisters- celebrating championships was fun but it was the getting there part that I’ll always cherish the most❤️

Thank you to my family, who's love and support is truly unmatched. To my mom, you are my light and my inspiration. Where most parents push their children to reach their ceiling, you taught me to shatter mine and then keep going. Thank you for your love, your sacrifice, and most of all your time. You’ve given me every ounce of all of it and I am forever grateful to be your daughter. To my big brothers Trey and Travis who sacrificed it all so I could live out my dreams; Thank you for being my best friends and my biggest role models. I hope to be just like y’all when I grow up! And to my beautiful nanny- I know papa is looking down on us all smiling at how far we’ve come. Thank you for your unconditional love and for always being my safe haven. I don’t typically get long winded but it’s because of these beautiful humans that I have a passion to share, and a love for something bigger than myself to pass along. I hope to make an impact on others the way that each of you have impacted my life, and to always make you

The Stallion program has had great success since 2004 and the program is proud of the athletic accomplishments on the field. The program has a long tradition in academic achievement and the program has assisted many players in realizing their dream to play in college. Our program has sent over 20 student athletes to play at the next level. We have sent 4 to D-I universities, 4 to D-II universities, 6 to D-III and 7 to Junior college. Over 50% of our athletes will also attend college outside of sports to earn a degree. This season we look to send at least 2 more players to play softball at the college level and earn a degree.
