Union March
by Mekel Rogers
Union March is titled after the North Carolina county of the same name. This piece is designed as a festival march or concert opener. This piece features several musical concepts, including dynamics, phrasing and style. The various crescendos drive the music forward and highlight the band's ability to play with contrasting textures.
Santa's Midnight Sleigh Ride
by Rob Grice
Oh no! Santa's late! It's a little scary because it's midnight, and Santa is just now leaving the North Pole for his long night's journey! This selection is unlike any holiday song you've heard before. It reimagines the familiar tunes of Jingle Bells and Up on the Housetop and puts them in a minor key, making them sound spookier than you might recall the original songs. Will Santa make it in time? That's up to you to decide!
Joy!
by Patrick Roszell
Joy! combines two holiday favorites, Angels We Have Heard on High and Joy to the World, in a fanfare setting. The flourish effects in the flute, oboe and clarinet part enhance the joy of this holiday selection. In typical fanfare style, this piece showcases the trumpet section, who are sure to get you in the holiday spirit!

Christmas Angels
by Paul Clark
A brief intro of Angels from the Realms of Glory leads seamlessly into Angels We Have Heard on High and Hark! The Herald Angels Sing. Various instrument sections trade off frequently throughout this arrangement. This adds lots of contrast to the piece. This song also features bells at the end of the work. The composer stresses the importance of the well known fact that "every time a bell rings, an angel gets its wings."
El Camino Real
by James Curnow
A Paso Doble is one of the most characteristic national social dances of Spain, and is usually composed in a moderately fast duple (2) meter with a march-like character. This style of march has been popular for hundreds of years. Composers from around the world have written the vast repertoire of Paso Doble marches. El Camino Real is composed in the style of a march Paso Doble and is named after an early California highway. The title is Spanish for The Royal Highway, which ran north from San Diego for 530 miles to Sonoma to connect the Franciscan missions. By 1823, there were 21 missions along the road, each about a day's journey apart. U.S. Highway 101 closely follows the old mission trail. Join us now for a march through old sunny California on the El Camino Real!
A Festive Finale
by Brian Balmages
A Festive Finale was written after numerous directors contacted the composer regarding his earlier work, A Festive Fanfare. While it had not occurred to Mr. Balmages at the time, conductors were interested in the idea of bookending their concerts with two related pieces. After two years, he decided to dive in and see what the finale would look like. The opening of the finale mirrors the opening notes of the fanfare to bring everything full circle. From there, the music takes on its own distinct personality and includes options for audience participation. As with A Festive Fanfare, Mr. Balmages did not intend for this piece to sound like a holiday medley. Rather, he wanted it to sound like a symphonic work that happens to touch on various holiday tunes throughout while incorporating a bit of original material as well. Mr. Balmages was thrilled with the result and hopes bands and audiences alike will enjoy playing it as much as he did writing it!

Sleigh Ride
by Leroy Anderson
Sleigh Ride is a light orchestra standard whose music was composed by Leroy Anderson. The composer had formed the original idea for the piece during a heat wave in July 1946, and he finished the work in February 1948. The original recordings were instrumental versions. The lyrics, about riding in a sleigh and other fun wintertime activities, were written by Mitchell Parish in 1950. The orchestral version was first recorded in 1949 by Arthur Fiedler and the Boston Pops Orchestra. A selection of the artists who have recorded it include Herb Alpert, The Andrews Sisters, The Carpenters, Bing Crosby, The Boston Pops Orchestra, Ella Fitzgerald, the amazing Debbie Gibson, The Muppets, and Andy Williams.
