Educator Voices
"I loved being able to talk to other colleagues from around the state to see what their ideas are compared to mine. I am also on the math Curriculum writing team so this helped me think about what I need to incorporate into our Curriculum."
"I used to think that math instruction was isolated to topics and now I know that language patterns and habits of mind and interaction help students move across subjects more fluently."
“I have made more of an effort to make math more joyful by adapting lessons from the iReady curriculum without decreasing the rigor. My students have a more positive math mindset, and they have shown tremendous growth on iReady Diagnostic assessments.”
"I really enjoyed this training. In a very clear and direct way she informed the group of current math philosophies that all teachers should know!"
"It was so helpful and we had time to work on projects"
"I use the Ambitious math materials weekly at a minimum."
"I felt that everything we did in the training was applicable to what I'm doing in my classroom, which I don't find to be the case with most other professional development. Thanks for making this so fun and useful!"
“As a result of this workshop, I’ve started to rethink the purpose behind my math instruction. I’ve begun shifting away from purely procedural teaching toward more conceptual, student-centered approaches. I’m incorporating tasks that invite multiple strategies and voices, and I’m more intentional about creating space for student agency. I’m also more willing to question the status quo and make instructional choices that prioritize equity—even if they challenge traditional expectations. Since making these changes, I’ve noticed my students are more engaged and confident in math. They’re taking more risks, sharing their thinking more openly, and showing a deeper understanding of concepts—not just procedures. There's also been a noticeable shift in classroom culture: students are more willing to learn from one another, and more voices are being heard, especially those who might have been quiet or hesitant before.”
