Students that have excessive unexcused absences from STEAM will be dismissed from the program in order to make room for students on the waiting list. If for some reason your student will not be attending STEAM for a day or two, you may text or notify Ms. Hocamp or the child's STEAM leader in advance.
All students participating in STEAM must be picked up by or before 5:30 pm on normal days. On Wednesdays, however, students must be picked up by or before 4:30 pm. If no one is present to pick up your child by 6:00 pm on normal days or 5:00 pm on Wednesdays, FSA staff will contact the Police Department to handle this matter. If you are unavailable or running late to pick up your child, you may contact a friend and ask them to sign out your child(ren). They will wait with them until you arrive to pick them up.
Students in STEAM will be participating in a variety of activities. These activities are related to the fundamentals of our program: science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. Each 4 months we rotate through these fields so each student gets to experience different projects based on different standards.
