A Halloween Thank You!

🎃👻 A Spook-tacular Thank You for our Halloween Extravaganza!

What a hauntingly good time we had at our annual Halloween Extravaganza Trick or Treat event at MCC Red Mountain! With a whopping 1500+ community members in attendance, it's safe to say that this year's celebration was a monstrous success.

We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who helped to make it happen. A few key shout-outs are in order:

🎨 Creative Booths: The booths hosted by student groups, departments, and classes this year were off the charts! We were blown away by your creativity and imagination. You each had fun activities, creative decorations, and fun costumes. They were the best yet! We're especially excited to see all the participation from classes (special shout out to Billy Gerchick for creating "Dread Mountain Way!")

🍭 Candy donations: The candy stash was nothing short of impressive (after a slow start), and the kids' smiles were even brighter. Special thanks to the students and staff who contributed to the candy supply, making sure every child left with a bag full of sweet treats.

💙 Our Incredible Community: Last but not least, a massive thank you to our incredible MCC community. Your enthusiasm and energy make events like these truly magical. We're grateful to have such a vibrant, supportive community that comes together to celebrate Halloween on our campus. A very special shout out to Steve Maez and the team from M/O who did the hard work setting up all the tables needed for this massive event.

We couldn't be more thrilled with how the evening turned out, and it's all thanks to each and every one of you. Halloween is a time to bring people together, and you certainly did that. Let's keep up the tradition, to continue spreading spooky joy on our campus for years to come!

Until next year, stay eerie and keep the Halloween spirit alive! 🎃🕸️👻

There are also a variety of great opportunities to get respite from the stress that can come with being a college student. Here are some things that can add joy to your college experience!

Week 11: Celebrate Victories

Student Message:

Each day presents itself with opportunities to celebrate wins; sometimes we just have to look for them.

“A little progress each day, adds up to BIG results.” – Brigitte Linford

Did you get up today when your alarm went off instead of pressing the snooze button?

Did you submit an assignment on time, or perhaps a little early?

Did you connect with a tutor or reach out to your instructor for assistance?

Did you meet the requirements for fall graduation? If so, be sure to apply for graduation (it’s free).

If you aren’t graduating, did you register for spring?

Small steps like these put you closer to your goals and ultimately the finish line. Major accomplishments are regularly celebrated; the small ones are often dismissed. Reward yourself when you accomplish tasks of all sizes – these little victories can have a big impact on your progress toward meeting your goals.

The next Student Success Workshop, Managing Stress and Anxiety, is offered online on Friday, Nov. 3 and in person Monday, Nov. 6.

Keep yourself informed about everything that’s happening on campus with the T-Bird Times digital newsletter.
