Welcome to the ELC

Dear Parent/Guardian:

Welcome to The Early Learning Center! I hope that you and your family had a fun and relaxing summer vacation. It has been such a pleasure to watch your children’s excited faces at arrival, lunch, dismissal and in their classrooms. They are becoming more adjusted every day and walk around our building like they have been here for years!

As the School Social Worker, I am here to support our students, teachers, and parents in ensuring your child’s preschool or kindergarten year is a successful and happy one. If this is your first experience with The Early Learning Center, you will quickly learn that we have a safe, warm and nurturing school environment where every student feels included and valued. In addition to all of the valuable academic skills your children will learn, we will also be focusing on developing their character education and social thinking skills. Our theme this year will be, “I am Giving! I am Kind! and I am Respectful!” Throughout the year, I will conduct classroom lessons and assemblies that will focus on these skills. Beginning in October, I will be running small groups, focusing on areas where some students may need additional support.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any concerns or questions about your child. I can be reached by phone (732) 786-2757 or email jberlin@mersnj.us.

I will be in our main hallway on Back to School Night, so please feel free to stop by and say hello. I am looking forward to a wonderful school year!
