October 3, 2019
As part of the Anti-Bullying Rights Act, October 7th- October 11th will be designated as the “Week of Respect” in New Jersey. During the “Week of Respect,” schools will be providing age-appropriate instruction focusing on preventing bullying. At the Early Learning Center, we will be introducing an anti-bullying behavior skill each day in your child’s classroom and the students will participate in classroom activities designed to reinforce that skill. Each student will be rewarded with paw prints when they are “caught” practicing the skill of the day. We are sure the children will be extremely excited to share these paw prints with you, and it would be a wonderful way to reinforce how important these skills are to you as well at home. Below is the schedule of theme days for the week:
- Monday (10/7): Compliment Day
- Tuesday (10/8): Sharing Day
- Wednesday (10/9): No school in observance of Yom Kippur
- Thursday (10/10): Celebrating Differences Day- Have your child dress in their favorite color!
- Friday (10/11): Giving Day
For Friday’s theme of Giving, we are asking that each student bring in canned goods to kick off our Food Drive to be donated to the Samaritan Center. You will receive a separate letter detailing the Food Drive and acceptable donation items.
Thank you for your partnership in making the “Week of Respect” a meaningful and successful experience for our students!
