I think it's important to think not just about what you're coaching, but about how and why. What values do you find to be the most important? What guides and differentiates your coaching? How has this changed? Writing down and outlining the core elements of your coaching philosophy can be an incredibly useful activity. My three main pillars are:

Applying Exercise Science Research to Coaching
One of my greatest strengths as a coach is that because of my educational, athletic, and coaching experience I can apply the knowledge gained from research to practical endurance training. This is important, because sports science has made huge strides in the last couple of decades and can greatly influence our understanding of best practices when it comes to training, recovery, and psychology. However, there is no one-size fits all approach and it can be confusing as to how best to apply the results. Interpretation is key.
