ART 4
Prerequisite: Art 3
In Art 4 students will be creating artwork for their final senior show at the end of the year. They may also be preparing material for Portfolio Day at art institutes or universities. They may want to prepare a digital presentation of their work as well, if they want to send their work to distant possible school selections. Students will be doing independent study the whole year which means deciding subject matter, media, and process. They can choose to make the art thematic or focus on one medium. They can reflect back on personal beliefs, culture and history or those of other people for inspiration in their work.
All levels of art at Merkel High School are required to maintain a digital portfolio through google sites. They will also be required to complete a visual journal entry every two weeks. For more information, see the visual journals page.
