MERIDIANCUE THEATRE'S SPRING BREAK CAMP 2026!
It's our show now, kid. The ghost-with-the-most comes to the stage in Beetlejuice JR., the frightfully funny musical based on the beloved motion picture turned Broadway phenomenon. Lydia Deetz is a strange and unusual teenager, still grieving the loss of her mother and obsessed with the whole “being dead thing.” Lucky for Lydia, she and her father move to a new house haunted by a recently deceased couple and Beetlejuice, a delightful demon with a real zest for life. When Lydia calls on Beetlejuice to scare away anyone with a pulse, this double-crossing specter shows his true stripes, unleashing a (Nether)world of pandemonium. With music and lyrics by Tony Award-nominee Eddie Perfect and a book by Tony Award-nominated pair Anthony King and Scott Brown, Beetlejuice was nominated for eight 2019 Tony Awards including Best New Musical. A viral "sucks-yes" on social media, this musical struck a chord with young theatre lovers who adored its unabashed humor and emotional honesty. Created for the generation that made it a hit, Beetlejuice JR. is a wacky theatrical party for all!
For our MCUE Spring Break camp, we cast approximately 65 kids who rehearse for one week. At the end of the week, they perform a full hour-long musical, complete with set, props, costumes, singing and dancing!
It's a lot of hard work, but it's a blast! No prior theatre experience is required.

REGISTRATION
Registration will open on Saturday, January 17th, at 2pm on our website!
Please be aware that camp generally fills up extremely fast. Within 48 hours after completing the online registration form, you will receive an email from MCUE confirming your child(ren)'s enrollment. After receiving that email, you will have 72 hours to pay the tuition fee via the PayPal button available on our website. There's no rush! We are hoping this step helps alleviate some of the stress of registration, which is on a first-come-first-serve basis. If camp does fill up, you will also receive an email confirming your child(ren)'s place on the standby list. We encourage you to utilize the standby list; we try to enroll as many kids as possible from it before camp.
If you do not receive an email, please feel free to contact us at info@meridiancue.org. We will respond as soon as possible.
PLEASE NOTE!!! Registering different children from different computers simultaneously using the same account has resulted in information NOT showing up in our system! Entries are often "eaten" and we've discovered it stems from using this method. Because of this, we encourage entering participant information one at a time, or signing in under different accounts.
Please also be aware that not all siblings are guaranteed registration! We do the best we can, but we cannot promise to get an entire family enrolled.
TUITION
Tuition is $175. per student
Your student(s) will not be considered fully registered until payment is received in full (you will have 72 hours to complete payment after you receive email confirmation from MCUE). Tuition is non-refundable, so please double-check dates! Tuition secures a role for your student(s) in the show. All casting decisions are determined after the auditions, and we try to spotlight as many kids as possible! Every student who is registered is in the cast; there are no walk-ins to auditions.
AGES
6 to 18
AUDITIONS
Auditions will be held at:
Xpressions Dance Academy
16175 N High Desert Street, Nampa, ID 83687
All participants are required to audition so we can cast participants appropriately!
We know it can be scary and cause anxiety, but we do our best to make it a low-stress, positive experience.
Please come prepared to sing approximately one minute of a song of your choosing that is completely memorized. We will not have a pianist or a piano, so please bring your music either on a phone/device that can be plugged into our speaker, or a CD (please do not sing a cappella [without musical accompaniment] if possible). You do not have to start at the beginning of a song - choose the section that best showcases your voice. We may hold cold readings from the script afterward. We will be looking for confidence, volume, preparation and enthusiasm, but the most important thing about auditioning is to have fun! Remember, no previous theatre experience is necessary for this program.
We will have forms to be signed and scripts to hand out, so it is extremely important to come to auditions if you are able!
If you are unable to attend, please contact us so we can send you video audition guidelines.
