National Anthem; The "Hymn to Liberty" or "Hymn to Freedom" is a poem written by Dionysios Solomos in 1823 that consists of 158 stanzas, which is used as the national anthem of Greece and Cyprus. It was set to music by Nikolaos Mantzaros, and is the longest national anthem in the world by length of text.
Cyprus Culture Example; Cypriots are extremely respectful of hierarchy, which can be traced through back to their two main religions, Islam in Turkish Cyprus and Greek Orthodox in Greek Cyprus. People are respected because of their age and position. Older people are viewed as wise and are granted respect.

History; Cyprus was part of the British Empire, under military occupation from 1914–1925, and a Crown colony from 1925–1960. Cyprus became an independent nation in 1960.
