"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God[.]" Aren't these beautiful words? We are not responsible for our own salvation. We need to humble ourselves and accept the gift God is giving us.
Exodus 15:11 - “Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? Who is like thee, glorious in holiness, Fearful in praises, doing wonders?”
Isaiah 6:3 - “And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: The whole earth is full of [H]is glory.”
Matthew 5:48 - “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.”
1 Peter 1:15–16 - “But as [H]e which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”
Revelation 4:8 - “And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.”
A perfect God cannot stand sin. He is without spot or stain, perfect.
We are completely full of sin, it affects our whole lives. Romans 3 describes us, we are evil.
Hebrews 9:22 - And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
Hebrews 10:10 - By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
From these two verses we see that there is a need for blood, not just any blood, perfect blood. We have salvation because of Jesus Christ offering His body.
John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Acts 16:31 - And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
Romans 10:9-11 - That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
We need to believe on the Lord Jesus, confessing our sinfulness and trusting in Him.
