Over the course of this year, I have seen significant growth in my teaching practice, as reflected in my initial and post-CSTP self-assessments. My areas of strength have continued to develop, particularly in Creating and Maintaining Effective Environments for Student Learning (CSTP 2) and Developing as a Professional Educator (CSTP 6). I am proud of my ability to establish a positive classroom climate that promotes respect, collaboration, and rigorous learning while reflecting student diversity. Additionally, my focus on professional growth and reflective practice has allowed me to make intentional, data-driven decisions to support all learners.
CSTP 2: I have excelled in creating safe, supportive, and engaging environments for my students. I integrate culturally responsive practices and routines that ensure all students feel valued and encouraged to contribute to our classroom community.
CSTP 6: I have grown as a reflective practitioner by setting authentic professional goals, collaborating with colleagues, and pursuing professional learning opportunities that directly impact student achievement.
While I have made progress in Assessing Students for Learning (CSTP 5), this remains an area for growth. I aim to further develop my skills in utilizing assessment data to differentiate instruction and involve students in setting and monitoring their learning goals. Additionally, I will continue to refine my instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of English learners and students with special needs.
I am most proud of the relationships I have built with my students and the positive learning environment I have established in my classroom. Seeing students feel confident, engaged, and excited to learn is the greatest reward as a teacher. I am also proud of my growth as an educator—becoming more reflective, intentional, and adaptable in my practice.
This year has been a journey of growth, learning, and celebration, and I look forward to continuing this path as I strive to provide the best possible learning experiences for my students.
