The IXL Diagnostic Arena is a very helpful tool to pinpoint a student's needs directly, so they get the individual help they require. The Arena will recommend specific skills that the student needs to work on, allowing the student to quickly access them on their results screen. Students will be completing the Diagnostic Arena regularly to monitor their progress toward their goals. Students will aim to reach grade level in all components.
Students will aim for a score ≥ 100 times their grade level.
2nd Grade ≥ 200 3rd Grade ≥ 300 4th Grade ≥ 400 5th Grade ≥ 500
6th Grade ≥ 600 7th grade ≥ 700 8th Grade ≥ 800 Algebra I (9th Grade) ≥ 900
Scores between these values show % through that grade. Ex) 740 = 40% through 7th Grade material.
Completing recommended skills allows a student to increase their scores and reach grade level. These are shown under each of the six strands on the results screen.
All of these scores are exact values, meaning that the student has completed the Arena and is up to date. If there are any scores shown at a range of values, the student must 'Step into the arena' to update their score.
The ranges can appear in a student's overall score and/or any of the six strands.
Ex): 350-420; 560-730; etc.
Fractions are at 800, so exactly at 8th grade level.
Algebra & Algebraic Thinking is at 770, so 70% through 7th grade level.
Numbers and Operations are at 720, so 20% through 7th grade level.
Geometry is an 800, so exactly at 8th grade level.
Measurement is at 700, so exactly at 7th grade level.
Data, Statistics, & Probability is at 780, so 80% through 7th grade material.
Overall Math Level is at 770, so the student is overall at a 7th grade level, 70% of the way through.
