First Graders learn many new writing skills including writing complete sentences, adding details, and eventually writing stories.  We also also encourage students to use their absolute best handwriting! At the end of our year together, I have the students work on a class book together. I send the book out to a publishing company to formally publish and bind the book with the option of purchasing a hard copy granted to families at the end of the year.
