Learning Targets

This unit we will learn...

• Throughout this unit of study, students will experience the promotion of effective movement development and fitness through Basketball skills and game participation.

• Skill development will include the focusing on the development of dribbling, shooting (foul shots and layups), passing (chest and bounce pass), rebounding, game rules and safety.

I can…

• Dribble with one hand.

• Pass the ball: Chest pass, bounce pass, overhead pass

• Keep my arms up while guarding.

• Know that I can not hit the person’s arm when trying to steal the basketball.

Vocabulary: 

Free throw, box out, lay-up, check the ball, offense, defense, out of bounds, pivot, double dribble, traveling
