• I can figure out the meaning of an unknown word by the way the word is being used in a sentence

Grammar Mini-Units: Parts of Speech, Sentence Parts, & Use of Nouns

• I can correctly identify the parts of speech in a sentence in order to further my understanding of subject/verb agreement, punctuation use, correct sentence structure, and capitalization

• I can identify what makes up a complete sentence in order to avoid writing in fragments and run-ons
