EK5 Program Logistics: Asynchronous Open House Presentation (Independently created by K. Reilly)
After teaching in the Mead School District for 4 years in Title One Schools. I was given the opportunity to create a new program with Mead Learning Options.
Our goal was to build a program that would bridge the gap between homeschooling and certificated, quality instruction. We wanted to build equitable opportunities for students to have a home-learning model, with certificated educators and quality designed curriculum.
During this role, I facilitated a curriculum team, ran in-person building logistics, and developed a system for enrollment and family onboarding. I was able to hire staff that aligned with our common mission and vision, create a professional learning community, and provide staff training for multiple online platforms. This new program gave me opportunities to apply for grants, network in the community, complete State-level applications, and student WSLPs. This leadership position allowed me to be creative with a team of teachers, act as a liaison with District Office, partner with accountability and the cycle of feedback with the MLO Executive Administrator and have an impact on student learning with high achievement outcomes.
