I am the Monte Gardens Elementary school counselor, Annie Hagglund. Our students call me "Ms. Annie." Feel free to peruse this website for more information about me, what I do at school, and what you can come to me for. Please feel free to reach out anytime- I am here to help!
About me
I have been working with children for 17 years. I started my career as a behaviorist, using Applied Behavior Analysis to treat children with autism is school and home settings. I transitioned to counseling in 2014 while living in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. I moved home to the Bay Area in 2016 and have worked in MDUSD ever since.
I was the school counselor at Monte Gardens from 2016-2020, then I went to Oak Grove Middle School and was a school counselor there for 2 years. I came "home" to Monte Gardens in 2022 and have been here ever since.
I have a Bachelors Degree in Communication and Psychology, a Masters Degree in Educational Psychology, a PPS Credential in School Counseling, and I am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my family- I have an 8-year old son and an 11-year old daughter. I also like to hang out with friends, go on hikes, and travel.
