Try Again

You do not have to be perfect!  As long as you engage in class and consistently turn in work, you can re-do graded assessments and replace your old BOE assessment score(s).  You must ask to try again, so we can discuss and problem-solve how to improve. 

Late Work/Try-Again Policy

If a student turns in an assessment on time, they…

• are eligible for Try Again

• receive comprehensive feedback from teacher 

If a student turns in an assessment one-two weeks late, they…

• are not eligible for Try Again 

• receive feedback from teacher 

Any assessments turned in TWO (2) weeks after the due date will not be accepted (unless there are extenuating circumstances and we’ve discussed what is going on). Do not plagiarize!  In my experience, nerves, anxiety, and imposter syndrome contribute to the impulse to cheat, cut corners, and do a disservice to the learning experience. If you need support, just ask me for an extension a few days in advance.

Try-Agains:

• Assessments must have been turned in on-time to be eligible to Try Again. You will not be given the opportunity to Try Again if you did not turn the assignment in on time (without communication) or do not participate in assignments designed to prepare you for the assessment (also called Prep and Practice). 

• You have two weeks after the assignment is submitted to try again.

Late Work:

• Work submitted late (after two weeks) with no communication will be given a "0", and is not eligible for revision. I have limited time to grade and give feedback. You have limited time to complete assignments. Due to this fact, I will not accept any assignment two weeks after the due date. I also want to say that I am a reasonable person. If an assignment is due at midnight, I am not awake marking anything that comes in after 12:01 as late. I would much rather have you get a good night’s rest and turn in the assignment a few hours after the due date.  I also try my best to inform students what time I will start scoring papers. Make sure your assessment is in by then OR that you have communicated that with me and that we have agreed upon an extended due date.
