This course will cover the functions of our democratic system. Through a variety of first hand projects and study of the responsibilities of various functions of government, students will gain a deep understanding if their civic roles. We will focus on topics such as:

• Constitution
• Executive, Legislative, and Judicial Branches
• Political Parties
• Bills to Laws
• City Planning and budget
• Local activism

Class lessons will utilize a combination of formats including web resources, video, document study, and a strong emphasis on writing.
