The heart of the MCSD CLD Instructional Delivery Plan is TEACHER COLLABORATION and COTEACHING. Our CLD Teachers, general education teachers, and other educators, meet in collaborative teams to discuss EL learners’ (ELs) learning needs and to ensure that ELs learn in an inclusive environment without unnecessary segregation. Discussions are based on content curriculum to be aligned, language proficiencies to be integrated and data around individual student learning needs. CLD Teachers collaborate with content teachers to share their expertise around English language development, instruction, and cultural responsiveness. They provide detailed data analyses and instructional recommendations for EL learners.
