SRD Process

Starting a READ Plan:

Students in kindergarten through third grade are assessed using the DIBELS measurement three times per year. Once at beginning of year, once at mid-year, and once again at end of year. At each point, if the student is well below the benchmark score, they are placed on a READ Plan to help identify interventions for the student. The plan is shared with parents as well as a face to face conference to discuss the progress the student is making. Below is a flow chart that shows the identification process.

Exiting a READ Plan:

Students who show grade level competency skills shall be exited from a READ Plan. The classroom teacher and interventionist will keep a body of evidence to demonstrate that the student is meeting or exceeding grade level. When a student exits, the READ Plan is finalized and the teacher will communicate the success with the parents. Below is the document to grade level competency skills set by the Colorado Department of Education.
