The story is about a man that is ordered to chop down a Kapok tree but dozes off on the tree when he becomes exhausted. Creatures from the Amazon, from little insects to jaguars, go to the man and tell him the importance of the Kapok tree. This contributes to deforestation because the reason why the animals tell him about how the tree is important is so he doesn't cut down the tree, and many more.
