Our MBK Mentors are college students from or connected to Akwesasne who work with our Indigenous students on many levels. Our elementary mentors help our students succeed in the classroom and improve their reading skills. An MBK milestone we are aiming to reach is that all students are at reading level by Grade 3.
Our middle school/high school mentors offer tutoring services to our students, providing support in subjects they struggle with. They also serve as mentors, acting as a support when students need to talk to someone or need advice on issues our youth may be facing.
