MBK IEG mission:
The purpose the My Brother’s Keeper Indigenous Education Program (MBK IEP) is to increase the academic achievement of Native American boys and young men in the Massena Central School District. Additionally, MBKIEP will initiate and implement college and career readiness strategies aimed at improving the life outcomes for disadvantaged and struggling Native American youth.
MBK IEP Goals:
Create an effective mentoring program, pairing Native American males with role models in the community, district and local colleges and universities.
Creating a student leadership program that helps recruit, train and mentor students to take leadership roles in the school and community.
Provide STEAM activities aimed at promoting and strengthening career awareness and readiness through an extended day program.
Establish a K12 Cultural and STEAM (CaS) Coordinator who will serve as the liaison between Massena Central School and the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe.

Hello everyone.
Welcome. My name is Ryan Ransom and I am from Akwesasne.
I am the K12 Cultural and STEAM Coordinator for the My Brother's Keeper Indigenous Education Program at Massena Central School District. I am a graduate of Massena Central High School ('05).
I wear multiple hats. I am the Assistant Director for the North Country Science & Technology Entry Program (NCSTEP) at SUNY Potsdam, an Adjunct Instructor for the Mohawk Culture and Language at SUNY Potsdam.
