What does the Wootton College and Career Center provide?

We provide Wootton students with post-secondary planning. This path might include a two- or four-year institution, a gap year, a trades apprenticeship, or entering the workforce or military.  Our assistance may include individual meetings, small group sessions, or classroom visits.  We host admissions representatives from colleges, so Wootton students have an opportunity to learn about a wide variety of schools. We also coordinate visits with representatives from the military, trade schools, and more.

We host or help with events at Wootton throughout the year, including:

• College Symposium (Spring)

• College Fair (Fall)

• Financial Aid Information Night (Fall/Winter)

• Summer Workshop Series

• PTSA meeting featuring Wootton alumni sharing their college experiences  (Winter)

We work with other MCPS high schools to host MCPS-wide events such as:

• The Hispanic College Fair

• The HBCU Fair

• The National Association of College Admissions Counselors (NACAC) College Fair

• On-The-Spot Admissions Events
