Student Schedules

Does the College and Career Center help students select their classes and make changes to their academic schedules?

No. All questions pertaining to student scheduling are handled by the student's assigned counselor.

Can the College and Career Center answer my Dual Enrollment and Early College Questions?

Transcript Information

Who can help me with transcripts?

Please contact Ms Nicholas, our Registrar (maritsa_nicholas@mcpsmd.org)  or Mrs. Ashwini Thakur (ashwini_s_thakur@mcpsmd.org), our Counseling secretary with your transcript requests. 

When and how do I get Mid-year transcripts sent to my schools?

Mid Year transcripts are requested by students through their naviance accounts.

They are usually available by the middle of February. When requesting, please note that "initial transcript" is the default so, students have to request both "initial" and "mid-year". When submitted by Wootton staff, only the mid-year transcript will be submitted.

When a school requires an SRAR, what does this mean?

SRAR stands for Self Reported Academic Record. When asked for an SRAR, Schools are requesting that you submit your grades. Students will have to request an unofficial transcript from Wootton which they can use as a reference as they fill out the necessary sections.

Standardized Test Score information

Will MCPS be having an In-school SAT day this year?

Yes, the In-school SAT day for Juniors ONLY , usually takes place in March

How can I get my test scores from SAT and ACT?

Wootton does not provide nor do we order test scores. Students must contact the College Board for SAT or ACT, Inc.  directly for their respective scores.

Does the College and Career Center handle SAT and ACT fee waivers?

Yes.  Please contact Mrs. Carr to request ACT or SAT Fee waivers. kathleen_f_carr@mcpsmd.org

How do I get a NACAC application fee waiver?

Mrs Carr can provide you with a NACAC application fee waiver.

AP Exam Questions  

Can the College and Career Center answer questions about AP exams? 

Yes.  Mrs Carr is one of the AP Coordinators and can help you with your AP questions.

How do I pay for AP Exams?

Go to the Wootton website.  Once there, on the left side you will see "School Cash Online ".

Click on " School Cash Online" and go to the "Obligations" tab. You pay for your AP exams in the obligations tab. You require a SCO pin # to pay for this transaction.  The main office can provide you with this information.*Please note, it can take up to 48 hours to have your AP exam fee reflected in the SCO account.*

When are the AP exams?

 AP exams take place annually in May.  

What will be the AP format be this year?

All exams will take place in person at Wootton or USG.  The format will be either pencil/paper or Digital depending on the exam. Students cannot choose one or the other.

How do colleges receive my AP exam scores?

After you take an AP Exam, the College Board sends your score report to the college or university that you designated in My AP. Your score report is cumulative and includes scores for all the AP Exams you have ever taken, unless you requested that one or more scores be withheld from a college or canceled.

College Rep Visits

Where can I find dates and times of College Admission rep visits?

On the main page of your Student naviance account, you can see when and what date reps will be visiting under "What's new". From September through early November college admission reps will be providing in-person or virtual information sessions at 11:30am or 2:45pm.

How do I sign up for Rep Visits?

On the main page of your student naviance account, under "what's new", where the visits are displayed, go to "additional inf". Click there and you'll be brought to another page.  On the upper right hand side, there will be a green "register" button.
