Students who are going to have an apprenticeship will need to obtain apprenticeship codes from your counselor even if you have not yet started with an employer. Students can leave the building, but should be engaged in related instruction (studying for a technical class, practicing a skill) in order to earn those credits.
Grades for apprenticeship students are based on the electronic portfolio which includes assignments for related instruction given when they were not with an employer, evaluations from the employer and assessments from related instruction. You may view the MCPS Apprenticeship page as this will also have information regarding Apprenticeships within MCPS.
