REQUIREMENT 2: Take 2-years (Junior & Senior year) IB Personal & Professional Skills course
IB Personal & Professional Skills (IB PPS) aims to support students in developing both academic and career-related skills through 5 themes. PPS develops attitudes, skills, and strategies students can apply to both personal and professional situations.
5 Themes: Effective Communication, Personal Development , Thinking Processes, Intercultural Understanding, & Applied Ethics
Must take IB PPS Junior AND Senior year
Must complete the following IB CP Core Requirements:
Core requirements: Completed through the IB PPS course
Reflective Project Paper: The Reflective Project (RP) is an in-depth research paper where students critically discuss and evaluate an ethical issue arising from their career pathway. Students receive support and instruction on their RP within the IB Personal & Professional Skills class in collaboration with a CTE supervisor.
Language & Cultural Studies Portfolio: The language and cultural studies (LCS) component invites students to explore and better understand their linguistic and cultural repertoires and reflect on them in the context of local and global communities.
Community Engagement: Community engagement offers opportunities for students to learn in, from and with communities as well as to apply knowledge and skills acquired in other areas of learning. In this component, students identify, explore, and understand issues relevant to them and their communities that they can respond to through engagement in and with communities.
REQUIREMENT 3: Take 1 Higher- Level (HL) course & the corresponding exam
approximately 240 hours of required IB-instruction
