Do you have limited access to technology or devices (like a computer or phone), but you do have a Xbox or PS4 system? Here's some tips for you.

While NOT supported by Google or a recommended method for distance learning, there is a workaround for students to access material from Google Classroom on the Xbox or Playstation. Though there is NOT AN APP that the students can add to their consoles, they can use the built-in browsers that come on the xBox and Playstation devices. On Xbox, there is Microsoft Edge. On Playstation, there is the “www” browser.

Students will be able to open assignments and interact with video and written instructions.
Students will be able to open attachments like Docs and Slides and type on them. It isn't easy to do with a controller, but they can access the content.
Some students type faster with the controller than some adults do on a keyboard.
Students will not have access to Google Meet or Zoom.
Students will have access to review and see materials with LIMITED access to respond or type.

1. Turn on PS4 system
2. Use controller to scroll to far right of bar with games on it to “library”
3. Select “Library” application
4. Under search option, scroll down to “Applications”
5. Select “Internet Browser” (www) in list of applications
6. Start Internet Browser and press triangle button on controller to search
7. Type classroom.google.com
8. Students log in with their school email and password

3. Scroll down to apps
4. Go to the Edge application
5. Go to classroom.google.com and sign in
6. Students log in with their school email and password
