Audition Dates
You MUST participate in all 3 days of auditions (Singing, Acting, Dance)
Sept 8th Singing
Sept 9th Acting
Sept 10th Dance
Sept 11th Call Backs
Sept 12th Post Cast List
*Note* - "Call Backs" DO NOT denote that you are up for a primary role. A call back can mean many things.
We don't know what to do with you yet
We liked something we saw and want to dig into it a bit more
We need to mix voices for harmonies, we want to mix personalities, or comic deliveries for the best performance
It is a MISTAKE for young actors to assume they have any role until the cast list is posted.

Audition FAQ's
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How should I prepare for the audition?
A: We recommend reading the attached sides and putting yourself in the characters’ shoes. Is the character mad or upset? If so, how would that change how you say their lines? Would you shout what the character is saying? Or would you would cry while you read their lines? These are the types of questions that can help you prepare to read in the audition room. If you are still unsure, search YouTube for some examples of how others played these characters.
Q: How will I know when it is my time to audition?
A: There is a Sign Up Genius schedule where you can sign up for a specific block of time. Be sure to double check your time. Sign up with friends if you like.
Q: What do I do when I arrive at auditions?
A: When you arrive, there will be someone sitting at a table outside the audition room (they are called a monitor). They will check you in and make sure all of your forms are complete, give you a number, and take your picture. The monitor will also lead you into the audition room when it’s your turn. Remember that everything that you do is part of your audition. This includes your behavior before, during and after the audition.
Q: What is it like in the audition room?
A: When you come in the room you will have your picture taken with a number assigned to you. (This is to help us keep track of paperwork.) There will be three-five directors sitting at a table in the audition room including the Student Director. You will stand and perform one or two monologues. You are to clap for and cheer on your peers. The directors will lead you through the audition very casually, so take a deep breath and relax.
Q: What are the directors looking for?
A: Ultimately, we are looking for students who can transform into the character they are reading for. We should forget who is reading in the audition, and feel as though the character on the page has come to life in front of us. Look for ways to make the character uniquely yours. You don’t need to be perfect, we have 3 months to make it shine. Think diamond in the rough.
Q: Can I be in the play and still participate in another activity or sport? A: Yes! Many students have participated in two or three other sports/activities while participating in our plays and musicals. Keep in mind, however, that the more conflicts you have, the smaller the part you will probably receive. It’s all about how much time you are able to commit.
