Soccer Referee Opportunities with MWSRA (Metropolitan Washington Soccer Referee Association) - paid positions; must be no younger than 13 years old, take an initial class which is about 6 hours for two days over a weekend, pass a test by scoring 70% or better, register with USSF and buy some basic equipment: a couple of jersey's, shorts, socks, a whistle and flags. Montgomery County Board of Elections - as an election judge, you can earn up to $210 or 25 SSL credits by volunteering at the polls in the next election; must be: 16 years old or older, a U.S. Citizen, and registered to vote (you can register online); see link for more information.
Future Vote Initiative - for students under the age of 16; any middle or high school student can earn up to 6 SSL hours by volunteering to work on election day (two 1-hour training sessions and a four shift on election day); see link for details.
Fund for Public Interest - offering paid, full-time positions for students over the age of 18; get hands-on experience in a grassroots, summer campaign focused on helping the environment (office out of College Park, MD).

Montgomery County Police Cadet Program - graduating senior; planning to attend a local college or university in the Fall; U.S. Citizen; min 18 years old; valid driver's license; interested in becoming a Police Officer with the Montgomery County Department of Police; cadets will be assigned (2) semester rotations (Fall/Spring) per school year in various units, for a maximum of two years; provides an opportunity to learn about the Department and gain on- the- job training; cadets participating in the program receive a salary of $16.75 per hour.
