Hello RPMS families! I hope this summer was enjoyable and relaxing for your families. My name is Claudia Flickinger, and it is a privilege to be serving as president of the PTA for 2022-2023! My family has been part of the amazing Rosa Parks Middle School community for several years. We are extremely fortunate and grateful for the commitment and engagement of the staff and principal at this wonderful school.
Last year we were fortunate to return to in-person school which provided a bit of “normalcy” to our lives. However, we must remain vigilant and cautious with regards to the health of our community. Regardless of what challenges this coming year has in store for us, we remain committed to our mission to ensure we continue to support our students and staff. Last year we provided support with Student Awards, 8th grade Tshirts, 8th grade dance, staff appreciations, wish lists, snacks for standardized tests, and more.
The goal of the PTA is to enhance the educational experience of our children in three areas: Family Engagement, Health and Safety, and Multi-Cultural Arts in Education. On behalf of the Rosa Parks PTA Board, I invite you to join us and get involved. We need your support more than ever!
Here are a few ways you can be a part of the Rosa Parks’ PTA community:
1. Join the PTA (https://rpmspta.memberhub.com/store): the membership will buy you two or one adult memberships, voting rights and it’s the PTA’s biggest source of funds that enables us to support our students and staff. These numbers have also helped us move our needs forward with the county council and school board in the past; there is power in numbers.
2. Give to the Dolphin Donations Campaign (https://rpmspta.memberhub.com/store or donate via PayPal or Venmo by using rpmspta@gmail.com) to defer the costs of programs for our students and their families as well as help fulfill the school’s “wish list”. This campaign allows us to support our school without the overwhelming feeling of fundraising constantly.
3. Participate in our various fundraisers.
4. Volunteer to support our school community. We have various vacant positions.
5. Stay connected by following us on social media:

As parents we work to balance giving our children responsibility and independence, while continuing to support and encourage them. If we work together, we can make the upcoming 2022-2023 a successful year for the whole Rosa Parks Middle School community. The Rosa Parks PTA is looking forward to working with you as we collaborate with the amazing Rosa Parks’ staff for another productive school year.
Sincerely,
Claudia Flickinger (rpmspta.president@gmail.com)
