- Kindergarten, first grade, and second grade students have a new curriculum starting this year. This quarter, Kindergarten students will be going through the performing and responding processes for some select songs. These processes will facilitate learning the following concepts:
- Vocal exploration and the 4 voices (singing, speaking, shouting, and whispering)
- Musical opposites: fast/slow, loud/soft
- In quarter 2, Kindergarten students will be going through the creating and performing processes for some select songs. These processes will facilitate learning the following concepts:
- Vocal exploration
- Musical opposites: long/short, high/low (using iconic notation)
- Steady Beat
- Same and different sections of music
- In quarter 3, Kindergarten students will be going through the performing and responding processes for some select songs. These processes will facilitate learning the following concepts:
- Reading long/short-short and high/low patterns using iconic notation
- Steady Beat
- In quarter 4, Kindergarten students will be going through the performing and creating processes for some select songs. These processes will facilitate learning the following concepts:
