Inquire about (or create!) a committee that aligns with your values. This can be an opportunity to collaborate with others to better your workplace climate. Consider some of the ideas to cultivate more joy at work:
Poll your coworkers to share ideas for team-building and connection opportunities throughout the year.
Team Member Scavenger Hunt: Ask staff to submit a fun fact about themselves and create a game to see who can correctly guess who the fun fact is about.
Wednesday Trivia Day: Choose a trivia topic for each Wednesday, such as, Finish the Lyric, What Movie Scene Is This From, Rebus Puzzles, etc.
Walking Club before or after work.
Monthly Birthday Celebrations.
One Good Thing: Start staff meetings where staff can briefly share one good thing from their day/week.
During Lunch
Consider taking time today to eat lunch with a coworker, whether you ordered takeout or brought lunch from home. As you eat together, you can share specific tastes you notice in your meal, your experiences participating in the staff activities for Mental Health Awareness Week, or other activities you do to care for yourself.
