Course Description: Chamber Choir allows select singers to refine their vocal skills in the highly demanding small ensemble setting. Students sing a variety of music written for small vocal ensembles, often without accompaniment. Students will meet during lunch twice a week to rehearse. They perform small ensemble music in many styles and languages, and use critical listening skills to evaluate and refine their performances. The ensemble has a very active performing schedule and offers leadership opportunities for student conductors and soloists. This ensemble also has opportunities to audition for MCYC (Montgomery County Youth Choir), All-State (10th-12th grade) and Jr. All-State (9th grade), and will participate in performance-based field trips throughout the school year.
