Bullying Prevention

Forest Oak Middle School does not tolerate any behavior that creates a hostile school environment, disrupts learning and school activities, or negatively interferes with a student's academic, psychological, social or physical well-being.

Is it Bullying?

It is not always clear whether an action is bullying. Here are a few quick ways to judge that.

It's Rude

When someone says or does something by accident or unintentionally hurtful and they do it once.

It's Mean

When someone says or does something on purpose or intentionally hurtful and they do it once.

It's Bullying

When someone says or does something on purpose or intentionally hurtful and they keep doing it even when you tell them to stop or show them you're upset.

Montgomery County Public Schools offers many supports and services to help prevent bullying, including Student Services staff (school counselors, school psychologists, school social workers, and pupil personnel workers) who assist in the development of individual, group, or school-wide approaches to bullying prevention.
