What is MDCAPS (Maryland College Aid Processing System) ?
MDCAPS is the Maryland College Aid Processing System, a comprehensive financial aid system developed by the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) to efficiently process state scholarship applications and allocate funding to eligible students in Maryland. To use the system, individuals create a student login profile to apply for scholarships, view their financial aid status, accept awards, and monitor payments.
If you are applying to any MD school, you should create an MDCAPS account to be eligible for state financial aid.
Depending on your FAFSA information, you may also qualify for aid from the state of Maryland.
Students must complete the FAFSA by March 1st to be consider for state financial aid.
Students who completed the FAFSA, only need to create a MDCAPS account to be considered for state financial aid.
