Cap and Gown Information

• We will distribute Caps and Gowns along with other graduation materials at Blake on Wednesday, May 26 from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm

  • This will be a drive through event, students will return all school issued items, then pick up their cap, gown, tickets, and any other items we have for you.

  • The map below shows the pathway we will use for this day.

• Did you miss cap and gown pick up? You can pick up your items in the Blake HS main office

Graduation Attire

• All graduates will receive a blue gown, a white class of 2021 stole, a blue cap, and a class of 2021 tassel

• Students may also receive honor cords and medallions based on their work, activities, and achievements. These are as follows:

  • Tassel

    • Purple Tassel- this is for students earning over 240 hours of SSL by the first Friday in April.

  • Cords

    • Purple and Silver- ACES Program

    • Rainbow- Allies for Equality

    • Red, White, and Blue- American Sign Language Honor Society

    • Red and Blue and Yellow, Green and Blue- National Art Honor Society

    • Maroon and Gold- Leo Club

    • Black and Gold- Minority Scholars

    • Pink- Tri-M Music Honor Society

    • Blue and Yellow- National Honor Society

    • Purple and Gold- Science National Honor Society

    • Yellow and Red- Spanish Honor Society

    • Red and Blue- Thomas Edison School of Technology Program Completer (provided by Edison)

  • Medallions

    • Blake HS Capstone- Medallion on a Red, White, and Blue ribbon

    • Seal of Biliteracy- Medallion on a Maryland Flag themed ribbon

  • Additional

    • Purple ribbon, purple and white pin- Montgomery College Dual Enrollment Students

Material Drop Off Notes

• Seniors should return all school material issued to them that they will not need for the last two days of school. This would include items like books, uniforms, chromebooks, instruments, art materials, or anything else that is school issued.

• Please be sure that all items are labeled with either a sticky note, or a sheet of paper in or attached to it with your Name and Student ID #
